What This Site Is
VPNTesting.com is a free, independent resource that provides:
- Browser-based tools to test VPN connections for IP, DNS, and WebRTC leaks
- An IP address lookup tool that shows your IP, location, ISP, and VPN detection status
- A browser fingerprint tool that analyses your browser’s privacy characteristics
- An HTTP security headers analyser for any website
- A client-side password generator with breach checking
- Reviews and comparisons of VPN providers
- Guides and educational content about online privacy and VPN technology
We are an independent testing and review site. We are not a VPN provider and do not sell VPN services directly.
No Professional Advice
Nothing on this site constitutes professional security, legal, or technical advice. Our VPN reviews, test results, and guides are provided for informational and educational purposes only.
- VPN leak test results reflect what was detected at the moment of testing and may vary based on your device, browser, network configuration, and VPN settings.
- A “pass” result does not guarantee your VPN will protect you in all circumstances or against all threats.
- Our VPN reviews represent our assessment based on testing methodology described on the site. Your experience may differ.
- Security header grades and browser privacy assessments are informational tools, not security audits.
- For matters involving legal compliance, regulated industries, or high-risk threat models, seek advice from a qualified professional.
Accuracy and Availability
We make every effort to provide accurate, up-to-date information, but we cannot guarantee that all content is free of errors or omissions at all times.
- VPN providers frequently change their features, pricing, server networks, and policies. Information on the site may become outdated between updates.
- Test results depend on external factors outside our control, including your ISP, network conditions, VPN client software, and browser version.
- The site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The site may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of – or inability to use – this site or its tools.
- We are not liable for any decisions you make based on VPN test results, reviews, or recommendations published on this site.
- We are not liable for the actions, services, privacy practices, or security of any VPN provider reviewed or linked to on this site.
- Our total liability for any claim related to the site shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, since the site is free, is zero).
Your Use of the Site
When using VPNTesting.com, you agree not to:
- Scrape or harvest – Use automated tools to extract content from the site without prior written permission.
- Interfere with operations – Attempt to disrupt, overload, or compromise the site’s infrastructure, testing tools, or servers.
- Misrepresent results – Alter, fabricate, or misattribute test results or review content and present them as originating from this site.
- Redistribute content – Copy, republish, or redistribute substantial portions of our content without permission.
- Use for unlawful purposes – Use the site or its tools in connection with any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations.
VPN Leak Testing Tools
Our testing tools are provided free of charge for personal, non-commercial use. Please understand their limitations:
- Tests detect common leak types (IP, DNS, WebRTC) but cannot identify every possible way a VPN connection might fail or expose your data.
- Results are a snapshot in time. A VPN that passes today may behave differently under different network conditions or after a software update.
- Tests require your browser to make network requests to external detection servers. This is how the tests work – by checking what the outside world can see about your connection.
- We do not guarantee the availability or accuracy of third-party detection endpoints used by our tools.
What’s My IP Tool
The What’s My IP tool detects your IP address and enriches it with geolocation and ISP data from third-party services. Results depend on the accuracy of those services and may not reflect your exact location. VPN detection is based on known VPN provider IP ranges and ASN data, and may not identify every VPN provider.
Password Generator
The password generator runs entirely in your browser. Passwords are generated using client-side cryptographic functions and are never sent to our servers. You are solely responsible for how you use, store, and manage any passwords you generate.
What Is My Browser Tool
The browser fingerprint tool runs entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. No data is transmitted to our servers or any third party. The privacy assessment is informational only – it reflects what your browser exposes to websites in general, not a security audit of your specific setup. You are responsible for interpreting and acting on the results.
HTTP Headers Checker
The HTTP Headers Checker fetches HTTP response headers from URLs you provide. It analyses them against common security best practices and assigns informational grades. These grades are guidance, not a comprehensive security assessment. The tool is rate-limited and includes protections against misuse. We are not responsible for the content, availability, or security of any URL you enter.
Intellectual Property
All original content on this site – including text, graphics, logos, page design, testing methodology, and code – is our intellectual property or used under licence. You may:
- Share links to any page on the site.
- Quote brief excerpts with proper attribution and a link back to the source page.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.
Affiliate Links and Referral Commissions
Some links on this site are affiliate links. When you click through to a VPN provider and make a purchase, we may earn a referral commission at no additional cost to you. This is how we fund the site and keep our tools free.
To maintain your trust:
- Affiliate relationships never influence our automated test results. Leak tests are objective.
- Affiliate relationships do not determine review scores or rankings. Our methodology is documented and applied consistently.
- We disclose affiliate relationships on pages where affiliate links appear.
- We review and recommend VPN providers we would not earn commissions from if we believe they genuinely serve our readers.
Third-Party Links and Services
This site contains links to third-party websites, including VPN providers, security tools, and informational resources. We are not responsible for:
- The content, accuracy, or opinions expressed on linked websites.
- The privacy practices or data handling of third-party sites.
- The availability, security, or performance of third-party services.
- Any transactions you enter into with third-party providers.
Clicking an external link takes you outside our site. We encourage you to review the terms and privacy policy of any site you visit.
User-Generated Content
If you submit comments, feedback, or other content to the site:
- You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and distribute your submission in connection with the site.
- You confirm that your submission does not infringe on any third party’s rights.
- We reserve the right to remove any user-generated content at our discretion, including content that is abusive, misleading, or off-topic.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operators of VPNTesting.com from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the site, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of any third party’s rights.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, with the “Last updated” date revised accordingly. Your continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify visitors through a prominent notice on the site.
Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware.
